FAQs

Who is the retreat for?

The retreat is designed for therapists interested in Compassion Focused Therapy. You do not need to be an advanced CFT practitioner. The emphasis will be on experiential learning, reflection and exploring compassion for self in a supportive group setting.

What is included in the retreat?

Your retreat fee includes three nights’ accommodation at Pickwell Manor, the CFT teaching and experiential programme, yoga and breathwork sessions, a restorative sound bath, meals provided as part of the retreat programme, and use of the venue and grounds. A detailed programme will be shared nearer the time.

Will I receive CPD?

Yes. The retreat will include CPD and a certificate of attendance will be available after the retreat.

What are the retreat dates?

The retreat runs from 13–16 April 2027 at Pickwell Manor in North Devon.

What are the accommodation options?

We will be using a number of apartments at Pickwell Manor, each with comfortable bedrooms and shared living areas. There are both shared occupancy and single occupancy room options, subject to availability. Shared occupancy is limited to a maximum of two people per room. Unrelated guests sharing a room will have separate beds. Couples may share a double or king-size bed if they prefer. We will ask for your room preference after booking and will do our best to accommodate this.

Single occupancy: £1,400

Room type is subject to availability.

How do I secure my place?

A £300 deposit secures your place. Once your deposit has been received, we will contact you to confirm your booking details and ask for your room preference and registration information.

When is the remaining balance due?

For bookings made on or before 2 February 2027, the remaining balance is due by 2 February 2027. We will contact you beforehand with payment instructions.

When do bookings close?

Normal bookings close on 2 February 2027. Late bookings may be accepted after this date and up to 28 February 2027, subject to availability. Late bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking.  If a late booking is subsequently cancelled, the cancellation charge that applies on the date of cancellation will apply in the same way as for all other participants.

What happens if I need to cancel?

If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as soon as possible.

  • Before 2 February 2027: your £300 non-refundable deposit will be retained and any additional payments will be refunded.

  • From 3 February to 22 February 2027: a cancellation charge of £600 will apply and any remaining amount paid will be refunded.

  • From 23 February to 13 March 2027: a cancellation charge of £850 will apply and any remaining amount paid will be refunded.

  • From 14 March 2027: the full retreat fee is non-refundable.

If you are able to find someone suitable to take your place, and they complete the booking and payment process, we will refund any amount you have paid above the £300 non-refundable deposit.

Why do the cancellation terms change as the retreat gets closer?

As the retreat approaches, accommodation and other retreat costs become increasingly committed and non-recoverable. The cancellation schedule is designed to reflect those commitments while still allowing a proportion of the retreat fee to be refunded where possible.

Can I transfer my place to someone else?

If you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible. We may be able to allow your place to be transferred to another suitable participant, subject to availability and agreement.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Yes. We will ask you about dietary requirements and allergies before the retreat and will pass these on to our caterer. Please give us as much detail as possible, particularly if you have a medically significant allergy or intolerance.

What happens if the retreat is cancelled?

If we need to cancel the retreat, we will refund the retreat fees you have paid to us. We strongly recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance to cover illness, travel disruption and other circumstances that may prevent you from attending.

What should I bring?

A full suggested packing list will be sent before the retreat. We recommend comfortable clothing for the teaching and experiential sessions, suitable clothing and footwear for the grounds and coastal walks, and anything you would normally bring for yoga or relaxation activities. Maybe some trainers and running gear if you fancy an easy paced short run with Andrea.

Will there be opportunities to spend time outdoors?

Yes. Pickwell Manor is set in beautiful North Devon countryside, with access to the grounds and nearby coastal walks. There may also be optional opportunities for gentle walks and informal outdoor activities during the retreat.

Is there parking?

Yes. Parking is available at Pickwell Manor.

Is the retreat accessible?

Pickwell Manor is a historic property and some areas may have steps, uneven surfaces or limited accessibility. If you have any mobility or accessibility requirements, please contact us before booking so that we can discuss what may be suitable.

How do I get to Pickwell Manor?

Pickwell Manor is near Georgeham in North Devon, close to Croyde and Putsborough. We will send detailed travel and arrival information before the retreat.
